After 2 days of improbable upsets and some of the highest payouts in Breeders’ Cup history, Patrick McGoey won first place indramatic come from behindfashion by wagering $7,000 to win on Drosselmeyer in the Classic. Drosselmeyer’s victory at odds of $14.80 to 1 resulted in McGoey’s wager returning $110,600. Combined with a first place prize of $160,000, McGoey took home winnings of $270,600.

Christian Hellmers of Los Angeles, CA, finished in second place, with winnings of $121,700. John Allunario was third, earning $78,480.

Patrick McGoey qualified into the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge via a $100 contest on BCQualify.com. “Knowing that I turned a $100 online qualifying spot into $270,000 is a fantastic feeling!” said McGoey. Third place finisher John Allunario also qualified in a BCQualify.com contest, turning his $400 entry fee into more than $78,000.
